Bill Marko, our Head of Business Development, will over-see the new location which places Protext near to the heart of legal London. Our staff will now be available for client visits in order to speed up still further the project processing chain.
The UK Intellectual Property Office is granting Protext UK Patent No. 2433403 for a text-editing apparatus and method. The patent becomes effective as of 24 June 2009.
The patent gives Protext protection for its unique post-editing environment, which can now be developed further to achieve yet more efficient rates of document processing.
Patent applications are pending in several other jurisdictions, including Europe, the USA and China.
Protext is pleased to be able to announce that it has concluded a long-term agreement with Aswan Analytics (AA), a supplier of document processing and translation preparation services, in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India.
AA are experts in the preparation of input text for machine processing. They handle a wide range of formats and produce editable output documents which are optimised for machine reading and machine translation. They are particular specialists in processing pdfs to maximise the retention of formatting while eliminating as much as possible the obstacles to effective machine translation and post-editing.
Protext is confident that this collaboration will strengthen its service in the vital area of the upstream document processing chain.
